Way to map Addictive Drums plugin to Drum Rack?

Post by IronShirt » Mon Mar 17, 2008 2:23 am

Trying to figure a way to map the Addictive Drums VST to the Drum Rack. I suppose it would be like assigning a note value to each drum pad.

Is there a simple way to do this?

With EZ Drummer I'm putting an External Instrument on each pad in the drum rack, and using them to send the midi to a single instance of EZ drummer on a different track. You can then map the notes in the chains of the drum rack.

I would imagine you can do a similar thing for Addictive Drums

I've just worked out that you can stick an instance of the VST in an unused cell of the drum rack, and still route all the other cells to it using External Instrument instances, so the whole thing works in a single track and can be saved as a self-contained preset :)

Now I can have the names of all my EZ drummer sounds in the piano roll and play the whole kit from the padKontrol :D
