There are lots of PS>USB adapters: http://www.stepmaniawiki.com/wiki/USB_Adapters

Map the pads to keystrokes, or translate to MIDI to map into Live.

Here's my setup;

Laptop running ableton 6
Behringer BCR2000
Access Virus
Echo Indigo Soundcard
Pioneer DJM 600/800

Laptop is routed to one channel on the pioneer and Virus is routed to another channel.

In ableton I have:
5 Audio Tracks with drum loops
7 Audio Tracks with synth / ambience loops
1 Audio track with kicks
2 Midi Tracks with a simpler on each
1 Midi track controlling the Access Virus
1 Midi track with an impulse loaded with some 909 drum samples

All the drum audio tracks (except the kick track) are routed to a master drum track with effects: Low pass filter, redux, delay

All the synth audio tracks are routed to a master synth track with effects: Low pass filter, redux, reverb

Simpler tracks routed to a master track with effects: Low Pass filter, Delay, Reverb

Master channel has effects: Hi pass filter, redux

All the effects are assigned to knobs on the BCR2000, all the channels on/off buttons are assigned to buttons on the BCR2000.

All my audio loops are colour coded according to key. All of them are arranged in the session view. I launch individual clips 1 or 2 at a time, not whole scenes. I keep muting and unmuting channels and add effects whenever necessary.

Basically I just rock out live jams and sequences of my own tracks. Sometimes doing the track in its entirety and moving onto the next one and sometimes taking portions of various different tracks and making new combinations on the fly. All automation on the simplers and access virus done live - lots of filtering, delay, transposing. I also make up drum patterns to suit a jam on the impulse... literally clicking in the notes.

works for me, but I'm always looking for new ideas.. keep em coming people...

My tricks:
1. Get a good looking girl to play bass.
2. Take a international rock star to play percussions.

Check the images from our gig couple years ago:
