File Safety Issue

Post by Guest » Sun Oct 27, 2002 9:52 am

Hello. I just installed Live 1.5.2 on Windows XP and have run into a major file safety issue. Whenever the PC hard-locks while Live is running, then there is a strong chance the current ALS file will be deleted.

In other words, if you load a song in Live, then press the PC reset button (simulating a hard lock), when the PC reboots, the ALS file might be gone, *even if you didn't change anything*.

This is a major file safety issue.

This means a user must duplicate a file before opening it in Live to prevent Live from wiping it out. This is likely due to Live opening and locking a file during use. It should not do this - instead it should only perform a file operation on an ALS file while opening or saving, not during use of Live.

Thanks,
Brian
