midi/automation question

midi/automation question

is the automation in live 4 midi based? is there any way to convert one form of cc data to automation data in live? in other words when automating a softsynth, is Live just writing midi to the softsynths particular controller? if so, can that data be copied/pasted to another parameter?

dunno about all that, but you can copy/paste between envelopes, no problem :)
I just tried copying a midi cc envelope to a parameter in impulse, and I had no problems.

aha

thanks man...

sounds like in that case its all done with midi data??? so what you're saying is that if you have some volume automation happening in live, you can copy it to lets say, cutoff on a softysnth?
