PDC buggy stuff!

Post by djsynchro » Thu Mar 20, 2008 11:08 pm

Just had a drum VST (E-Phonic Drumatic 3) playing

Put a UAD compressor in a return track for parallel compression -->> it starts flanging.

Closed the set, Changed the buffer from 64 to 512 -->> now it's echoing.
Tried it with Ableton devices. Same thing.

With only ONE track playing and delay compensation enabled.

Tried it with Simpler, all seemed OK.
Tried it again with Drumatic, same thing (slapback delay)
Click on Freeze trak DELAY WENT AWAY (!!!)
Clicked "Cancel" now it plays as it should...

Tried it again with Novation V-Station.
Ableton Live compressor in return track -->> starts flanging.

Right click on clip, "freeze", cancel -->> flanging gone.

I have nothing but grief with send based parallel compression since 7.

I found that one of the main culprits is if I have -any- audio tracks sending to another track (like making a drum bus without using sends), I will get phasing with parallel compression.

So try to freeze a track & then cancel.
Please post back here if that works (Not that it shouldn't b fixed properly)

I have also had quite a bit of trouble with delay compensation going wrong after a bit of intra track routing here and there. Nasty!
