rendering individual tracks....

Post by splitloop » Thu Mar 20, 2008 3:25 pm

Is there anyway to render out all tracks in a song as individual wavs anyway quicker than doing them one by one?

thanks,

Look at the options you get when selecting Render.
try the "render all" option.

Yeah, I've tried that, but I'd like to render each track with it's individual effect send audio too. It seems to just render each dry track out, and then each send channel in its totality. Any thoughts?

Short answer: Render all like i said, unless you want to change the sound of your song unpredictably, in which case do them one by one, like you tried.

Send channels mix all the incoming sound before applying effects.
You are asking "is it possible to isolate the sounds from my send channels once they've been mixed" to which the answer is NO. For instance, if you had a compressor on a send channel, and you route both your bass and drums to it, set the levels according to the peak volumes of the drums+bass, you'd get some compression.
now if you route only the drums to the Send, and render that, you get no compression, as the drums aren't loud enough to trigger the compressor on their own. Thus, your send track is now just acting like a giant volume boost.
Same goes for the bass track. When soloed, like you ask for, you'd get no compression. Live (or any DAW) has no way of mixing the drums and bass, running them through a compressor, then somehow splitting them back into seperate drum track and bass tracks.
