Hard disk indicator

Post by opencircus » Mon Mar 24, 2008 8:26 am

Hi there,

I used to have a Powerbook G4 1.5Ghz with 1Gb of RAM, and working with Midi tracks (specially Grand Piano), wouldn't be possible. If the set had more than three tracks the cpu bar would reach 120% and the hard disk indicator would be constantly red..
Now I bought the new Mac Pro 8-core 3.0Ghz, 4Gb of RAM, 7200RPM hard disks and when playing back a set with 8 midi tracks of Grand Piano and multiple effects on, the cpu will reach around 20% and the hard disk indicator will flash at certain points. When the set is starting to develop the cpu bar remains at 20%, ut the hard disk indicator is constantly red with audio clicks like touching the mini jack of the speakers while they're on at low volume.
Is there something I could do to solve this issue, apart from using less tracks?
