Deactivated midi devices?

Post by rhythminmind » Sun Mar 23, 2008 10:02 am

I'm on a windows system Live 7.x
What would cause midi devices to be deactivated (highlighted in orange) under the midi ports setup? When they are in this state they are unusable. Sometimes a reboot clears it sometimes not..

They are already in use by other software (at least Live thinks they are). DirectMusic allows multiclient support for Midi, but Live doesn't support this.

Thanks.. Bizzare Tho. They work fine in Reaper & Bidule. But not if i open Live 1st. When i do it's kills these devices until i reboot. Might be remote SL 2.x beta/Live related.. Not sure tho. Like i said it's only with Live..
