Home Made Bass Trap // Absorber

Post by foogermooger » Mon Mar 24, 2008 9:52 pm

You will need

1. pillow case....old duvet..or any sort of length of fabric..as big as you like!!

2. Some Acoustic Partition Roll (Im sure Rockwool, or any other Mineral Wool will do)

Loosely stuff the Acoustic Roll into the pillow..and fold and seal the pillow with some tape...

JOB DONE................

Ive use 6 pillows and 2 duvet covers so far behind and underneath my speaker stands...and below my desk to absorb the lower frequencies....They look like shit but boy do they help.....

Behind my speakers and in every corner of my room i bought some proper foam bass traps from ebay......

Im really fucking itchy now though.......worth it!!!

Wow...I must be slow with the lingo these days.

I post a topic to try to help some people and am told to Shut The Fuck Up.....Almost laughable actually.

Now LAIRD why would i ever want to go to the trouble to post up a picture for you ?

How does FUCK OFF grab you

For everyone else!.....well you dont really need a pic....just grab a pillow....fill it with the above mentioned wool that can be bought very cheaply from any hardware store.....Then tape the pillow shut. Its that easy!! Dont fill it too tightly though and rmbr to use a dust mask and some gloves....the stuff is really itchy and irritating!!

You better do that, this stuff in your lung isnt too great i guess...
Nonetheless a great idea! With a little effort it *could* possibly even look nice.

I just did my room on the weekend

Brought some very dense 75 mm insulation bats and then covered them with fabric.

Big improvement in the room.

Looks much better than this photo. Couldn't get a good angle. But you get the idea

THERE! I think a picture is much nicer than just saying "guess what guys, I did something".

i am truly curious what the OP's studio now looks like. I'm imagining a laundry hamper explosion, but perhaps it looks better than that? he did say "shit" but i don't know. I'll fuck off now ;)

I didnt once say "guess what i did something"...i merely shared a small piece of information regarding how to make a simple bass trap or sound absorber.......Also if you would have been a little more POLITE instead of telling me to "Shut The Fuck Up" i would have gladly taken a pic and uploaded it for you to see......

As far as my studio...well i will leave that to your imagination!!

This really seems NOT to be a very welcoming Forum at all....I really dont have time to be told to upload a picture or "Shut The Fuck Up"....as put by Laird.

Dude, the ;) means I was joking about the STFU, so please cut me some slack and don't blame the whole forum.

Sorry about the lingo

STFU is a bit harsh.....I could see the reason for being upset. Overall, there's alot of great people on this forum and a wealth of information available. Hopefully this won't stop you from sharing your ideas... 8)

i disagree. really "pics or stfu" isn't a negative statement at all. that just means if you're gonna talk about something like this have pics to back it up so we can get a better idea of what you're talking about. :D .02$
