Live 5.2, FW1814 & 2 Channel Dj Mixer

Post by Nick Fury » Tue Mar 25, 2008 1:45 pm

I've been trying to fiqure this out, and have not succeed at this as of yet. Ive tried reading in the manual and no luck and I've searched through the forum on here. I'm trying to run my stereo outs 1&2 into channel 1 of my mixer, and stereo outs 3&4 into channel 2 of my mixer. So i can use this setup like a typical Dj set up. i know this can be used in live itself with A & B, but I want to route the audio out so I can use the cross fader w/o any latency. Ive tried the cue set up, but no matter what stereo out 3&4 still plays low on my mixer channel 1. I basically cant get outs 3&4 to only play out 3&4.

You need to change the "Audio To" settings on the track (it sounds like you're using a 2 tracks - 1 each one representing a turntable).

So track 1 (label it Left TT) will have it's "Audio To" set to 1/2, and track 2 (label it Right TT) will have it's "Audio To" set to 3/4.

You will need to to have the audio routing visable - do this by clicking on the View menu, and checking the corresponding entry.

Once you learn about routing, there are some great tricks you can do using a DJ mixer. Read up on routing, and sends.

Great I'll try this when I get home. Yea I've had Live for awhile now, but have only used it very minimally. Now Im getting into the whole "Controllerism" type of stuff.
