Metronome count-in or start record on MIDI note on?

Okay...this is probably dumb, but in Live 4 when recording new clips (in session view) how can I:

a.) get a count-in of a bar or two from the metronome before recording commences?

b.) simply get recording to start on MIDI note on?

I find that I am constantly selecting events in the piano roll and moving them backwards in time so they start on bar 1, beat 1...there has got to be an easier way...please tell me there is!
