how to deactivate space bar

Post by kevin j » Wed Mar 26, 2008 5:22 pm

i searched the forums and didn't find it. in my booth the keyboard is rite next to me and i hit the space bar all the time and duh music stops. if i can't deactive it from stopping the music then i'll buy a new keyboard and destroy that button lol

It's a weird workaround, but it works. In your Live midi preferences, activate Sync and Remote for one of your MIDI inputs, even if you don't ever use these. Doing so will make the "EXT" button appear in the upper left corner of Live. After you start your set, click on the EXT button and Live will now ignore all spacebar presses. Click EXT again to stop your set or change tempos manually.

Just so you know in case it happens again, hitting SHIFT+Spacebar will start things up right where you left off too.
