I started out with flstudio but I have recently felt like it was bloated with useless crap. I had to sit there and delete all the useles crap. But ultimately I fl is good for the flslicer alone. Put a sample in there allows you to completely alter it from the oirginal sounds. Now you can do that in Ableton too but you have to use recycle or the crappy slicing feature which willl take you another 15 steps. So I ended up using both, but honestly I never use flstudio for anything other than fl slicer.
Two technics 1210 turntables, alot of guitars, 2gig Sony vgz fz290, 2gig frankenstein pc, mbox, ableton, flstudio, recycle, the infinity gauntlet, and alot of spare time..

I just started leaning Ableton a few days ago and the only thing i've noticed that I wish Ableton had that FL has are some of the MIDI features i.e. intricate chopping, grooves, etc.
