Another latency question!

Post by doctormoc » Wed Mar 26, 2008 6:25 am

Hello everybody,

I've got a MIDI latency issue that's driving me nuts!

When I press one of the keys on my Kontrol 49 the 'MIDI track in indicator' light flashes almost immediately, however the armed device doesn't respond for almost a full second.

I'm sure I've changed a setting and accidentally saved it as the template or something stupid like that.

Can someone throw me a bone?
yeah it's pretty good, but it needs more 'wukkah-wukkah'

Hi Doc,

please specify your setup a bit: what computer / operating system do you use? What´s your soundcard/audio interface?
In case you are on a PC, do you use the latest available ASIO driver for your soundcard? In case you are using a PCs onboard soundcard, please download and install the ASIO4ALL 2.8. driver from:

www.asio4all.com

In Live´s audio preferences, choose "ASIO" as a driver type and "ASIO4ALL" as an audio device. Click on "Hardware Setup" and make sure your onboard soundcard is selected in the ASIO4ALL control panel.

Hi Jorg,

I'm running a Pentium IV 3ghz with 1.5gb ram, Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2.

I use a Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1 as my audio interface, and the controller I use for piano keyboard instruments is a Korg Kontrol 49.

The Audio Kontrol 1 is USB powered (there's no other option which is strange), and I am powering the Kontrol 49 using the supplied power pack (mains power).

I just confirmed all my drivers are up to date.

Would I benefit from connecting the Kontrol 49 to the Audio Kontrol 1 via a MIDI cable?

Thanks for the quick response mate, it's good to know there's someone here to help!

Peace.

Hi Doc,

what buffer size have you set in Live´s audio preferences? Does lowering the audio buffer solve the issue? Please use the integrated "Setting up audio i-o" lesson to find the right buffer for your system.
Please set the "plug-in buffer size" in Live´s CPU prefs to "As audio buffer".

If that should not solve the issue, please send a screenshot of your audio preferences to [email protected]
Btw: which exact version of Live do you use?
