I don´t have much budget, but what mic would you recommend in this pricerange? Probably in the end I´ll pay like € 200, because I´ll see one that´s much better than the one in my price-range.

I want to record voices and guitar.

pacific pro audio PPA LD-1

a used shure ksm27

an akg c1000

sm58's will make everything sound "OK" where other mics will make voice and guitar sound better, for recording a solid low cost condenser will have much better results than a dynamic that is good for live vocals and not much more.

Thanx for the replies! The Messe-articles are seducing me. Would you recommend any of those listed? There are some from crowley and from CAD.

EDIT: I can´t give much more information about what I want to use it for. Mainly, I wanna sit in front of my pc and sing some tunes to the songs I write (and later use Melodyne, thats for sure ;) ). Probably I´ll also want to record classic guitar and flute.

Another noob question: I guess when you record electric guitar you just put the outs of the guitar into the ins of your soundcard?

as long as they are instrument inputs, yes. if line, it won't work well. if you have an amp that has a line out, you can use that, into a line in on your card, AND you can mic the cab...

another question, do I just plug it into my soundcard or do I need extra equipment?

do you have a mic input with 48v phantom power? if not, you need a preamp...

Thx dcease! No it doesn´t as I just found out :( .

So then I´ll have to continue to ask: Can you recommend a cheap preamp? Or should I buy me another soundcard like the EMU 0404 USB?

the 0404 usb has preamps, and a direct input for your guitar, i'd recommend it more than just a preamp, as long as it is an upgrade to your current soundcard... you can try other preamps later, if need be, but for what you described, i think that mic, and that card'll do you good!
