Tension: Priority messed up

Post by hoffman2k » Mon Mar 31, 2008 2:28 pm

Notes are being cut when there is no need for it.
It seems like the priority function is cutting notes regardless of how many voices there are in the polyphony.

If I set it to 16 voices and play a few 3 note chords, notes will be cut off.
This is 100% reproducible in Live 7.0.3

Hi Hoffman,

I was unable to reproduce this, could you send an .als file to [email protected] which illustrates the problem, so we can look into it?

Thanks,

File sent.
I know you're going to say, "it works when you set priority to high". But thats only half true. It reverses the problem. Now low notes will be cut off for no reason.

Another way you can test this is with the chord plugin.

It is impossible to play 12 notes, unless you trigger them at exactly the same time. And even then I'm not sure if all twelve of them are playing.

We could reproduce this and will investigate.

Hi,

Don't know if this is exactly related to the same Tension's bug initially described as I am experiencing similar muted/cutted notes BUT moreover comparing the same presets with original AAS String Studio VS-1 virtual synth's ones does not give the same sonic results.
Is it supposed to behave like that, some sort of cheaper, downscaled licensed plug-ins versions ? (with way less presets too, btw)

I would be a *little bit* disappointed if it was true, to say the least... :(

This is on an early 2008 8-core 2.8 GHz Mac Pro running Leopard 10.5.2.

Thanks so much in advance if there is any secret preference/option to activate somewhere and get the guenuine thing or simply a "soon to be released" update... ;)

For now I suggest you use 18 voices.
Its one of the few settings that actually works.
If you set it to 16, you cant play 12 voices at once. You can with 18.
Bug has been confirmed and reproduced.
