hi, I'm kinda new to this
I'm trying to play and record drum sounds from my Boss DR-670 Drummachine via Midi into Ableton Live. I'm using a M-audio fast track pro as an audio interface, connected the drummachine midi out to the interface's midi input.
when i play a pattern ableton shows midi signals and i can record "notes" but can't play or hear sounds!
can anyone help me or are there any tutorials considering this
many thanks in advance

i dont get it, it must be possible to play and record the sounds that are getting produced by the drummachine via midi! i dont want to use it as a midi controller, i want to use it as a drum synthesizer!
or is this impossible!?
*edit* may i got i wrong an midi is only for signal processing and not for actual sound transfer!?

MIDI is just the score - notes, dynamics, tempo, etc - you need to connect it to an orchestra to get sounds!
The answer is simple - you connect the audio outpus on the drum machine to the inputs of a soundcard, then you can record the audio.

Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.
