Assign MIDI CC to audioclip's transpose = incorrect pitch!!!

Post by Jacky14 » Thu Apr 03, 2008 2:06 pm

I dream to be able to transpose an audio sample with my remote 25 SL to adapt it's pitch to an other sample (a killer feature for DJ sets).

BUT since it's not possible to choose the pitch range assigned to the CC's 128 steps, the remaining assignation is NEVER TUNED CORRECTLY!!

The reason :
In Live, transpose range is default -48 -> 0 > +48 = 97 Values / 128 CC steps
This means 1 CC step = 0,7578125 transpose range!

The result :
1) If you start moving the knob assigned to live's audio clip transpose, your clip is never tuned!
2) When transposing your sample with a MIDI CC, you can NEVER go back to a tuned 0 pitch, you have to click the transpose's virtual knob, move it forth and back to 0 to get it back in tune. Moving the virtual knob with your mouse is always in tune, I wish I could make the same with a CC

The solution :
Add an option via a drop down menu (like choosing absolute, relative, etc.) with 1CC step = 1transpose value. This way, MIDI CC step 0 to 97 = -48 to +48 transpose, and MIDI CC step 98 to 127 = always +48.

Seriously, am I the only one that wishes to have this feature work correctly?
Configuration :
Live 6.0.10
Macbook 2Gh / 2GB RAM
Mac OS 10.4.10
Echo Audiofire 4
Novation Remote 25 SL
