actually I'd say it's closer to 100% - I think it's a rare enlightened soul who can rise above the emotional reactions of our animal selves 100% of the time. Even those of us who like to think of ourselves as intelligent, thinking people who don't react to base stimuli, there are unquestionably times when we do whether we realise it or not.Angstrom wrote: Socialism is as attractive to them as it is to a chimp, these people want $£$ Today !! You won a speedboat !!!!
I'm guessing %80 of the planet thinks like that.
Having children really accelerates the process because your fear receptors go into overdrive - and it's almost completely instinctive. From the second they start moving about you become automatic in looking for potential danger and that extends to news bulletins about paedophiles and suddenly you find yourself feeling violent and extreme towards potential perpetrators, even if it's made up by Chris Morris. I'll kill that fucking Paedo house if it comes near my child.
What we might think on paper does not protect us from our own animal selves. at the end of the day we are animals, no matter how advanced we think we are.
