What feature will most likely be in Live 8...
So basically all you need is remote access to a feature thats already there in arrangement view, but in session view. The "Set clip as master" function.
There may be a few experiments worth trying out.
The first one would be to see if you can trigger tempo changes in the arrangement with the locators, without affecting your current sound.
Which means that instead of a simple tempo jump, you could trigger an automated tempo fade.
The second idea I had is to embed tempo information in a clip as a CC.
You're already familiar with Dummy Clips, so you know that instead of triggering scenes with tempo information - you could trigger clips with tempo information.
None of these methods takes the fluctuations of the song in account. But in the first method, there may be room to set up a locator to correspond to a song tempo if it is a master clip.
Anyway. Just throwing some ideas out there. I haven't tested these things myself because I've had no need for it so far. So they're theoretical solutions with all the unthought off bugs that come with it.

really? Is that confirmed? or just speculation? That would be pretty cool.hoffman2k wrote: Live 8 will have a .bundle loader and .bundle files can be created with pluggo 4 in Max 5.
Tension, Analog and Electric are .bundle files. Or teasers as I like to call them

Pure speculation. Though the AAS instruments are .bundle files. Which sets them apart from any other plugin in Live. My theory is that AAS can make these bundle files in Max or whatever the hell Ableton + Cycling are working on. So that AAS can fix bugs in their plugin and just provide Ableton with a new bundle.tempus3r wrote:really? Is that confirmed? or just speculation? Its a wild guess, but one that makes sense to little old me.

another way to trigger tempo changes is to have blank scenes way down at the bottom of your set with the stop buttons removed.hambone1 wrote:I've tried most of those workarounds, but they're awkward.
Triggering tempo changes with dummy clips is one I haven't tried.
firing these scenes will change the tempo without disrupting what is currently playing

100 points to anyone who actually saw that there were words above that picture

take the survey and vote for automation in session!!
