Confusing CPU Spikes

Post by OliQ » Mon Apr 07, 2008 4:53 pm

I did a remix before going on holiday, and now I want to finish off an instrumental version, but Im just getting huge CPU spikes and stuttering. Before I went away it ran fine albeit hitting about 65-70% CPU, but no dropouts, now it cant handle it at all.

The Live CPU meter is hitting 110 now sometimes, but my CPU meter in OSX (menumeters) shows loads of space, and there is also loads of ram free... Im mostly using audio with FX, very few instruments... Any ideas??
