ableton's lack of response is unacceptable.

here is a question: what is needed to get this working without middle click?
on XP that works fine, but there is no driver for middle click on vista....

i would be willing to paypal you for this feature.

I support a big post in the general forum with photos of this working to get people complaining about this again.

ggrrrr...

Hi,

I answered in the other thread:

We do listen and hear you. It seems that it is not THAT easy to develop the Wacom support on our side, but I will make sure it gets a good attention in our wishlist. I can't tell if or when it will be there exactly, but be sure it is seriously considered.

So, this won't happen overnight, but I'll point it out to our developers and see what they say.

Regards,
Amaury

Thank you for this response. This goes a long way to make us all feel better about this problem.
In the meantime, we will enjoy the hack..

outdated -> http://www.d--------------e.de/files/Pen2Live1.3.zip
latest -> http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?p=364919#364919

It's fixed in that release. Initially the winkey was used to enable/disable emulation mode because automatic detection did not work reliably, I left the code in it on purpose because I don't use the winkey and thought that blabla...

Another thing, it is necessary to set the focus to the desktop in order for this automatic detection to work, so you might have noticed that if you had keys mapped to trigger stuff in live, you first had to re-focus live (click on it with the pen tip) for the key mapping to work again. This has been fixed, live is re-focused automatically when the emulation mode exits, the only bad thing is that keys are not processed while a tablet is emulated. This can't be changed without a major effort for which I don't have time, I prefer to wait for a fix from Ableton.

It's good news to hear that the priority of wacom support has increased.

Just 15 minutes away from receiving the first packets in your App...

Amaury, do you think that this could be fixed in a pre-7 release?

In less that 15 minutes I had direct access to all parameters (position, buttons, pressure, tilt).
Yeah, it really is. My company writes Penabled apps for doing door-to-door government surveys. ("And how many children live in your household, Mr Ghost?" "Oh, all my children use Live. Why?")

perhaps your language is the reason why it hasn't been added yet.

Quite frankly having been a loyal customer since 2003 and having been asking for simple tablet support for what seems like forever I, and everyone else here I am sure, would be pretty pissed off if that were actually the case. Fortunately we all know it isn't.

My guess is that it just isn't a priority, that's pretty obvious. Which is pretty irritating itself, but what can we do about it? Not upgrade? I've been doing that since version 5.
