Live 4.1 and Audiophile 2496 crackle

New Live User: So far I get crackle when playing the supplied Live tutorials.

It appears more at the start of clips than at the end.

I've stripped away anything and everything that I can think of, inc last 3 windows updates (just in case), defragged etc, but still the crackle.

Cubase SX 2.2 plays fine, and has done for 2 years.

I'm using P4 2.4, 1gb ram, 2496, Windows Media 9.

Anyone any clues? Similar experiences?

Is this any part of a known error due for fixing?

I've trawled this forum but found nothing to help.

i've got a 24/96 on windows and mine only crackle if the sample latency is set to low.

Mine is set for 512.

I'll try 1024 and see.

Mmm, kinda odd. I have a p3 1.2 ghz and I always set the drivers to 128 samples for everything. Sometimes 64 to play drums. I'm on windows xp over here and at 16bit 44khz.

I have absolutely no problems with the 2496 PCI card. Latency is at 5ms. With your system specs it sounds like you may have something else which is giving you problems. Could it be a background process or perhaps the video card?
