Help plz,Live looping w/MIDI, loop lengths aren't quantized.

Ok, so I've followed this MIDI looping tutorial courtesy of Stray411:

I've basically got everything set up and working. I am able to record just the way I was thinking and all that.

Now, when I record a clip in session view by mouse click, the clip will always be 1 bar, 2 bars, 3 bars etc.

When recording with the sustain pedal though, it stops recording the exact moment I release the pedal. This results in too short loops, often with values less than 16th notes involved.

I could of course create some empty clips with a certain loop length, but as you can understand, this is limiting and preventing improvising.

I have no idea how this is happening. I have set the global quantize to 2 bars, and when doing the keystrokes defined in Bome's, it works fine, so why does it go wrong with the pedal?

check options-preferences-record/warp/launch, check the Default Launch Quantization.

I'd go into midi learn mode and look for any assignments you didn't intend to do.

I'd try another device than that pedal, if you have one.

I have the same problem as you have, I tried to do that only with ableton and a midi controller, launch preferences are on 2 bars and the problem is still here....
Is it a bug from the version 7.0.3 ???

I think we have this problem because there is a control on the arm. button of each track, and it shouldn't : if the loop lenght is quantized, the fact to un arm the track stops immediatly the recording of the track.
....

how accurate to you have to stomp the peadl to say get exact 2 bar loops?

OK sorry if I'm stating an obivous thing but I just discovered recently that the only way to record quantized MIDI clips is to use one of the track's stop clip button !
