Any help would be appreciated

MMC to control

Post by The Fractal Son » Wed Apr 09, 2008 12:25 am

so im midi controller retarded. For a total noob, ive changed the transport controlls from MMC to CTRL, got the new ableton AND new upate for the MPD24 yet every time i unplug the mpd the settings go back to mmc. How do i save?

actually i figured that out, BUT when i map the controlls to start, stop, rec etc in ableton it allows them to turn them ON via midi, but i cant turn them off again. Why is that so?

Hi,

For the last topic, I had he same problem : Each time I turn on my MPD24, and get my first preset (called 'impulse', strange isn't it ?), it turns the transports' buttons into MMC, not in CTRL.
And then I find it out myself randomly :
- Load your usual preset (or 'live' preset by default)
- go into 'edit' mode' and turn on transports' buttons to CTRL
- then, return into 'preset' mode
- click on '>' button (just under the 'push to enter' knob) and then save your preset.
Now, it's in the box ! Even if your turn on/off your MPD ! Isn't it great ?
I hope one day AKAI will update its documentation, even edit a little addentum to it as a link on their website.
See ya' all...

I am not having any luck.
I'm trying to upgrade the os on this MPD24 I just got. The os that was on it was v1.04. I am running Vista and using Vyzex MPD24 to upload the os to the device. I am following all the instructions but no luck. I am stuck at step 3.
The pdf instructions say that my MPD24 should say "00 RECEVING" but it still says "SEND SYSEX".
This sucks!!!
Any help?

I had this problem too but using XP. I solved it with the following settings Akai advised me -

Adjust the buffer settings in the Vyzex program's Midi in port to '8' for the Number of Buffers and '2500' for the Buffer Size.

hope it works for you too! cheers.
