Is Jaguar ready for the stage?
I've got a 700Mhz iBook. I find OS 9.2.2 feels faster, but it is less stable than 10.2.1. Is anyone here using Jaguar onstage with Live? Are you having USB audio crackle? I'm using a Quattro - I get distortion and crackle when I record with it, but playback seems okay, except for one incident of distorted output using Reason. Restarting Reason fixed the problem.
I'm planning on reloading my OS on Sunday - should I give a fresh install of Jaguar a try (I had installed over 10.1.5)? Why does Live feel sluggish (especially moving parameters in the effects) under 10.2.1 compared to 9.2.2?
Should I just stick with 9.2.2?
Thanks!

i went to jaguar for about one month before i got fed up with it. i use a tibook 400 and jaguar was just too slow, so i switched back to 9.2. albeit, jaguar was crazy stable, i just couldn't get enough juice out of the machine to make it worthwhile. after going back to 9.2, i just went through every plugin and tried tons of combinations of this and that to try and make the thing crash, then went through and removed all the trouble spots. now i've got a useably stable os 9 machine that can handle a fair amount of number crunching.
in defense of the cat however, i never had any dropouts or clicks with my us-224. the machine always sounded fine, but if i got up into the red (with six tracks, the reverb on economy and a handfull of plugs) the screen redraw lag would be so fucking unbelievably slow that i'd have to wait up to half a minute to change anything.
