about time signatures

can i use different time signatures in a session?? and how?
for ex; 7/8 for first 12 sec. and 8/8 for rest

absolutely. Live doesnt care about time signatures. You can use clips that contain 5, 3, 7, 11, 17, or 123 notes. But take care with the quantisation. If it is set to something greater than one note (e.g. "Bar") it will be difficult to trigger clips with uneven signatures.

but if you were doing odd time signatures in arrangement mode...how would they line up to the grid? I have to try this out. I have a friend who was very interested in the last version of Acid, because it supported odd time signatures. If Live essentially ignores it, as you say....hmmmm...

you can put clips anywhere you want in the arrangement view, you don't even have to snap to the grid if you don't want to.

check out the current issue of computer music regarding Live, also the current sos,
acid blows.
