Mybe you could copy th user config file for the BCR to a new folder named "BCR2".
BCR2 will show up in Live Preferences

Last route is always using the Windows drivers (at least for one of the devices). That should work in case the tip from misteron isn't operable:-).

Did you try MIDI ox?
I have uc 33 and BCR2000 and in both instances they show as 1 and 2.
(Then you must change midi channels or assign, NOT to have them perform the same action.)
cheers

have you changed the global ID number of your second BCR in the Global edit menu?

Press the EDIT button and at the same time press the STORE key
encoder 5 will select the DEVICE ID.

choose a different one.

I've tried changing the ID's and still doesn't work.

And i don't know how to do that user config file thing.. bah.
Remember that both BCR's are connected via USB. And there is no need to install drivers. And i'm running windows vista ultimate x86 sp1.

Hope someone can help me.

What would happen if i connect the second bcr via MIDI to the main one?

Thanks, Pete

Well i changed the other one to U-2 mode and in MIDI-OX i was able to made them work as two diferent controller. But the problem in ableton remains. I have two BCR2000 inputs and two outputs all with the same name. So it always chooses one device. :(

You'll find UserConfiguration.txt (in XP anyway) in the following location
C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Ableton\Live x.y.z\Preferences\User Remote Scripts
...where x.y.z is your version of Live.

In this folder, make a folder called BCR2 (for example)
Copy UserConfiguration.txt into that folder.
Next, edit UserConfiguration.txt at will.
For tips on how to do that, see InstantMappings-HowTo.txt in same directory and/or search this forum for tips.

Still, I'm not sure that editing the config fole will be the solution but it is easy to do.

You mean in the MIDI IO section of the track? Coz as far as I can tell without trying it out (not in studio ATM) that would change the name of any references to the 2nd BCR in Lives Preferences.

Could you maybe have each BCR sending on different MIDI channels and then use MIDI Ox to accept MIDI in from one of the channels and output it to MIDI Yoke Port 1 and the other to Yoke 2. Then you could just use Yoke 1 and Yoke 2 as selections instead of choosing MIDI ports of the actual BCR (same difference).

...haven't tried that but it works in my head.

I had 2 connected to each other via Midi and then out to USB, only the first one goes out to USB, not both. They have to have different global IDs and set to a specific Mode as explained in the BCR manual. They worked perfectly like that.
