Routing MaxMSP Audio To Ableton?

Post by Myrrdin » Wed Apr 16, 2008 6:29 pm

Hi, I am using both MaxMSP and Ableton and I see in the Audio From portion of the I/O that MaxMSP is an option. However, I can't seem to get MaxMSP to play directly into the track by doing this. I was thinking of using Soundflower and then recording, but think it would be much easier to just directly hook MaxMSP up to Ableton.

on the input to an audio track max/msp should show up as an input.

on the max end it's all about the DAC~ object.

hth, don't have either in front of me to really help out.

I was using ezdac~, but all the same ezdac should work for channel 1 and 2 outputs, which is what i have selected as where i am getting audio from in ableton. i also tried dac and it did not work.

Where it says "audio from" in the I/O part of a mixer channel, that is where I select MaxMSP, then a menu below that gives me what channels. But audio isn't coming out of any of the channels.

I am using a mac so i cant use OSCGlue, though it looks pretty wicked.

have you tried ad_rewire on your dac, in that case Live receives all incoming audio from Max
