I love them but the new stuff is whack. They have a comb filter solo!

I saw them in Amsterdam and it was a wonderful concert,
Pefect sound, and a fantastic combination of music pieces.
Yes i found them real good.
The new stuff is a nice second start.

What's wrong with a comb filter solo?, it sounds great. I don't care what filter they use. it took my head off when they did it live.

I think they've made a really good album. They've managed to move on from what they did before but retain a similar feel, in my opinion

Maybe I should have called this thread "what do you think of Portisheads new album" :D

New album doesn't come out in the U.S. till the 29th or so. Anywhere I can listen to it now?

Signed,

One of Portishead's biggest fans ever.

Saw them in Munich -- great concert, less-than-perfect sound, and the new songs take some getting used to, I wonder if they will become classics as the old ones are....

Oh, man. I really want to see Portishead in concert, but they're not playing anywhere round here. I still stand by the fact that 'Dummy' is one of the best trip-hop/bristol-sound albums ever made. Period.

'Machine Gun' is a great song; not an obvious choice for a single I think, but a great song non-the-less. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album (roll on April 28th).

They're on Jools Holland tonight - BBC 2, 11:35pm. Cookin' on gas!

+1, dummy is one of the greatest albums i have ever heard. which i think is part of the problem as the new album doesnt have tracks that can compare to those earlier tracks. i've gave 'third' a chance, but its not really an appealing album.
