Live And Emagic EMI 2|6 (Mac)

Post by erland » Sun Sep 12, 2004 2:49 pm

I have a lot of problems with Live and the EMI 2|6. I was hoping Live 4 would fix this, but it doesn't seem like it did.

I get all sorts of crackling. There's input latency issues, there doesn't seem to be a way to do software monitoring without getting the sound doubled.

I'm using the 4,01 Demo In the latest version of OS X.

It's only working marginally better for me. Pops on records and horrible, horrible digital artifacts that seem to come and go with little to no pattern to them...

As for the 'sound doubling', it's not a latency issue as such. It's cos the engineers at Emagic were stupid enough to hard-wire the inputs to the first pair of outputs and the first pair of outs to the headphone outs, meaning they are useless when you're recording. Great work.

When I use hardware monitoring and I'm recording a clip Live starts recording too early. That's what I meant by "latency issues".

It works fine in Logic of course...
