Clip MIDI Record Question

Post by thracks » Mon Apr 21, 2008 3:17 pm

Hello,

Here is what I want to do. I want to set a clip to record MIDI, and STOP recording after the first pass, so when it starts looping from the beginning of the clip, it drops out of record until I tell it to record again. Possible?

Hello,

That´s not really possible. In the arrangement, you can use the punch in/out
function which does start / stop the recording according to the Loop start/end markers
but it won´t stop recording if you have loop acivated (because it does not pass the Loop End marker then).

Best,
Christian

It is possible in the session view, if you are working with clips short enough to fall within the global quantize settings (max 8 bars)

you just have to have a hand free, or otherwise re-trigger the clip slot while it is recording...

then it will loop in playback mode after the recording pass
