MAJOR ISSUE with EXT SYNC!!!

Post by dpel » Fri Sep 10, 2004 5:35 pm

this is totally unacceptable.

never has this happened with earlier versions of LIVE.
when syncing to MTC from another machine
my audio plays back as though it's being affected by the warp markers.
(it bounces with that "time stretch" affect)
i notice that all of my files created in earlier versions do this.
i've also noticed that all of my contiguous audio has "warp" enabled.
i beleive that when the audio was recorded (in the earlier version) the warp/loop was on but when recording long audio sections this shouldn't make a difference becuase the tempo is set and never changes. son on or off never made a difference.
now all of a sudden in 4.0.1 when salving to EXT, these files loose their
reference and drift or bounce with that "time stretch" affect.

if i turn off ext the problem goes away.

help me here guys.

thanx,
dp

MTC ie SMPTE? Only use midi beat clock w/no probs whatsoever. To be honest it sounds as if you have a nasty midi loop happening. I know you say this never happened in previous versions but have you tried ditching prefs. and resetting them?
Just an idea.....

i'm not sure how to dump prefs on a PC.
with my set up though i'm not sure i can have a midi loop.
but you never know.

set up:
g4 with fastlane send mtc (from protools) to hammerfall HDSP 9652
midi in.

i did just recently connect a MOTU midi time piece (usb)
to the PC. but before 4.0.1 with the MTP i had no issues.
