The browser option on NI-Instruments is not working in Ableton.
I tried to type in , for example "chord" but it wasnt writing anything.
Its anoying because i have many FM7 sounds in the library and they`arent hooked up to any attributes.
This also concerns the Massive of NI and probably reaktor as well.
Is there a solution yet? If there wont be any soon,then , i guess, i `ll have to go on with cubase.
FM 8 (NATIVE INSTRUMENTS) Browsing in ableton not possible
If you have 7.0.2 or later of Live, there is a fix. Make a file called options.txt which will go in your preferences folder. I'll quote Ableton here:
ewIf the DebugOption “-_EnsureKeyMessagesForPlugins” is set in the Options.txt, we make sure that all key messages reach a plugin’s window in front. That way, edit fields are again editable in the NI VST plug-ins. On the downside, key messages do not reach Live anymore as soon as some objects in the window of the VST plug-in are selected. Thus, for example, once an edit field has been edited, Live’s playback cannot be started via Space until Live’s main window regains focus.
Hi,mal-T wrote:hi,
1st: nice to kniow that there s a solution, but
2nd:What am i exactly supposed to do?
i made a file called Options.txt, within i wrote "-_EnsureKeyMessagesForPlugins"
, but where do i have to move it to? its still on my desktopCant find any Preferences Folder.
thanks
The Preferences folder should be there:
* Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\your user name\Application Data\Ableton\Live x.xx\Preferences
* Mac OS X: /Library/Preferences/Ableton

Amaury
PS: an easy way to find it is to select "Get support" in the Help menu, in Live. Then, there is a link in the lesson that leads to the Preferences folder.

Hello,
Note that on some Windows systems the application data folder is hidden by default. Here is what you have to do to make it visible:
Windows XP/2000
1. Launch Explorer.
2. Select Tools/Folder Options/View.
3. Check "Show hidden files and folders."
Best,
