Two things I liked better about Impulse -
-I could route each drum to an audio track, then send those tracks to one of Live's main returns.
-When I loaded a sample, it was default 100% velocity. It's annoying to have to turn this up on Simpler every time I drop in a sample, especially if I'm auditioning a bunch in a row.

I would really like a better way to convert old impulse kits to drum racks. -ie each impulse sound on its own square - is this not possible? I'm I missing something?
I do love impulse for quick percussion stuff with my trigger finger - with a few knobs mapped to stuff like time and pitch - very quick and dirty indeed!

That doesn't work as it should. When loading only a Simpler, it loads with my velocity setting, but when loading a new sample in a drum rack, it's back at 0% (and 50 ms release which is also annoying)onslaught wrote:You can create your own default Simpler preset with velocity set at whatever % you need.jp76 wrote: -When I loaded a sample, it was default 100% velocity. Create an empty Sampler or Simpler, set its parameters as you like, and manually drag that device (without sample) to Library/Defaults/Dropping Samples/On Drum Rack..

I really like Impulse - I think it actually sounds just that little bit 'fatter' for kicks (esp. a nice 808). The saturation knob is also special... wanna get dirty?
Drum Racks are good, too, but they seem to hog quite alot of CPU power (could just be my machine) and mapping them out can be quite complex and time consuming!

Another possibility is just to use the "velocity" MIDI effect and convert all incoming notes to full velocity.Poster wrote:When dropping a sample or multiple samples on a Drum Rack.Idonotlikebroccoli wrote:That doesn't work as it should.
