I am using a novation remote sl compact and I would like to trigger different samples with the 8 drumpads. I can't figure out how to assign different sound files (wav or mp3) to these pads.
What should I do in Ableton?
Thanks for your help

One thing that comes to my mind is that you probably can assign different clips to the different pads, using the midi-learn feature
but i'm almost noob, maybe i'm wrong.
also you can assign sample to an empty impulse rack, then play it

I have the same issue, I am not sure but I believe its due to the fact of using automap. I would like to find out, I am considering getting an mpd32 to use just for drum pads

Did this last night super easy..
use the midi learn pad and then click the clip (sample) you want to trigger and hit the pad. My only question now is how to trigger right when i hit it not having to waiting to hit the tempo

you need to turn off the quantization for the clips you intend to trigger in realtime. clips will usually default to the global quantization you have set.

anyway to launch clips i use the keyboard, i assign clips to keys on my keyboard
seems a waste to use good pads for clip launching
