Good news!
The GB has passed 300 signups! So bonus 2 is now included.

More good news!
Demos are ready.

This is taken from a post at KVR Audio:
Squids wrote:Okay, first batch of quick "riff demos". These aren't full song demos they are just one or two sounds with a few phrases so you can hear the instrument itself. These are mostly from the Rare Acoustic because I happened to be working on those at the moment. But I did sneak in one Tony Banks Synclav sound from Home By The Sea. That's on the 400 bonus though so good luck!

Here's a few clips to listen to so far:

http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/bassmarimba.mp3

That's a rare BASS marimba being played with Mallets and a Bow! Breathy low bow sound... very Gabrielesque.

http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/bandoura.mp3

This is that beautiful Indian zither instrument I showed you a picture of. A lot of things you can do with this. I was in a sort of polyhythmic mood when I made these demos.

http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/didgeridoo.mp3

Australian m8!

http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/charang.mp3

This is that Charango I just sampled. It's kind of like a little mandolin but different. I'll upload a picture.

http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/toyz.mp3

This has the Baby Kalimba on the left (that buzzes in a cool way at the high velocities) and the Toy Xylo on the right which I think is really cool. Jack Joselph Puig had one at his studio at Ocean Way. I am sure it has been used on a lot of records. It has a kind of Sigur Ros sound too it. Xylophone meets Toy Piano. This is a real find IMO.

http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/therem ... tation.mp3

The theremins in this are more phrases and range between anything from Pink Floyd Echoes type stuff to hip hop squeals and scratching. The bass synth in this is the SidStation! Esoteric secret weapon synth. Some good sounds from it in the Rare Instruments Vol. 1 There's obviously a lot more cool electronic sounds from Vol. 1 though so I will try to post more this weekend.

Some good vibes we've never released on here... Jon Brion style.

Welcome to the home by the sea. ;)

More to come!

Please refer bogh when signing up :D. That will give us each 5 epoints towards our next esoundz purchase. Thanks!

More demos:

Again, taken from a thread at KVR Audio:
Squids wrote:... and then there were more demos ... (he says at 5:30 am on a Sunday)

Here's an example of an exotic instrument made out of a violin bow and a metal fan layered in SampleTank from the Rare Acoustic Volume:

http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/bowedfan.mp3

And now some of the electric stuff. This could either be in the main Vintage or in the extra Vintage (Banks Bank). Either way... name the tune! First person to name it gets $5 ePointz.
http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/genechoir.mp3

This one is from the Banks material. It's a Polymoog layered with a Mellotron like Tony Banks used on the song Many Too Many. Notice the name I called it? ;) (let's see if he's reading this). Similar chord progressionish...

http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/manytonemany.mp3

There's a nice Rickenbacker 4001 on the Vintage Collection. This one we've never released before and it is pretty beefy!

http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/Ricky_Squire.mp3

This is a Les Paul from 1957 that is on the Vintage Collection. It's run through some ST effects...

http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/wisperingLP.mp3

This at one point in time came from a Mellotron but then got mangled (in a Radiohead kind of way) with the wonderful vintage effects built-into SampleTank!

http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/dfluteradio.mp3

A resyntheized tron sound... eerie!

http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/pianolike.mp3

Good old Arp String Ensemble ala Floyd.

http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/shiningsolina.mp3

You even get guitar synths in the vintage collection!

http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/gr300.mp3

A suitcase Rhodes that we've never released. I like this one. Barks a little.
http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/LA_Roads.mp3

This is one of the reasons I like SampleTank and that it never goes out of style. This was just a regular guitar until it was lfo filter, processed and tweaked... and a little dark tron choir in there for the full RADIO-LIKE experience. You can tell what I've been listening to today huh? ;)

http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/radiosignalLP.mp3

You even get some Steely Danesque horns in this thing as a special bonus...
http://www.sonicreality.com/dave/Snazzy_Jazzhorns.mp3

Finally, last but not least and I think I'm gonna go to bed now: The official song demo #1. I might make that other unofficial demo a sort of semi-official one... it doesn't matter I guess. Honestly you could do so many demos with this but if I get started I will get too excited and start writing an album with it. Even this one I am probably going to work up either on my album or with Simon Collins. This version is a noodle-fest but the basic vibe of it could be a song (with vocals and everything). Somewhere in between Beatles and 70's Genesis (and somewhat similar to what I played with Kevin Gilbert for those that know...). Every sound in it, including the drums is from this whole group buy. Clavioline solo, Arp solos, guitars, retro grooves, Ricky bass, Mellotron Crimson pad and... other assorted noises. Check it out! Hope you like it. Now join or you'll be missing out on the fun. I had a good time doing this one:

The GB is nearing an end, and there is one last bonus, which is just around the corner.
Squids wrote:As far as the bonus for hitting 400... I'll include the secret "Banks Bank" I like to call it. But, these extra sounds will be a FORUM/WORD OF MOUTH/UNOFFICIAL bonus only! You will have to REQUEST it which means you are "in the know" through word of mouth (we won't be posting this on the Group Buy page as an official bonus). So... good thing you kept up with the discussion huh? Feel free to spread the word about it but only those that read it somewhere will know to ask for it. The deadline to ask for it will be by the end of May. Here's what it is. These are SampleTank format sounds I am making for Tony Banks just to have on hand for writing or if he perhaps plays again with Genesis.. which might happen you never know. Next time out he could use the Receptor hopefully. This sound set won't be officially released as it is (but some of it will eventually be in the next big Sonik Synth update). It includes samples of the same presets he uses on the Synclavier, Prophet 10, Arp Quadra, RMI -separated Harpsi/Piano and organ mode, Hammond L102, Roland VP330 choir, Mellotron and it has most (if not ALL) of the Arp ProSoloist presets.

But, this one we're going to be strict about. It HAS to at least hit 400 for this special bonus. If it gets 399 that's not 400. Also, no one can drop out and still count so it has to be a final 400. In that case you might want to shoot for 410 or something to cover some that drop out or cards get declined etc. Since you already got some nice bonuses we won't just give this to you if it is close. Break that 400 barrier and it's yours. GOOD LUCK!
Rememeber - in order to get this bonus, you must request it!

The group buy is currently at 392 enrolled! I think we will hit the magic 400 (+ the necessary buffer)
