It's a bit 2007, isn't it?

I mean, it's a bit like having a blog, isn't it? 99% of people just aren't interesting enough...

It's the ableton forum. Why do people bother with facebook, myspace, twitter when they could spend their time here discussing the minutia of live and other topics?

Computer games don't effect kids... If Pacman affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music

Twitter if used properly can be a great tool
advantages are 140 characters so post small and fast.
fire a question out get a fast reply
Facbook and Myspace intergration is cool
I hardly open facebook but ever twitter i post pops up there .
Iphone Twinkle twitter client is cool as I can see who is Twittering within a certain radius of my cellphone. 1 mile 2 or 5 up to 1000's miles. I have found some new people locally with iphones like this. Twirl is a great client too..
If you choose who you follow carefully it can be great. Takes a while to get it thats all.

yep some people dont get it and dont find it use ful
I felt the same with facebook as well and still do to some extent. There is a series of videos that show you what twitter is all about. Some people love to blog. it takes alot of time and energy. Twitter is a 140 character max mini instant blog. u do it maybe once or twice a day. you find interesting people to follow/
An example is i am an avid tech news guy. I have followed peobably about a dozen well chosen people and get alot of links and info way before it hits the news or is blogged.
Some people SMS or text from there cell phones. Twitter does it for free and too as many people want to listen So to me it is like mass texting in and out to and from the people you are hooked up with. I have followed a few people then checked there friends and read their tweets till i find someone interesting. Like alot of peoploe you can find rubbish but i have managed to find interesting stuff. Its a good way to get instant answers and peoples opinions on say a movie a piece of equipment or software, Throw it out there and u can get some great responses.

I'll post a link below to a vid it is pretty basic in what it says but gets the point
what i'd like to add that it misses is
people post links or u can to anything of interest.
if you use some clients you can post photos as well
It forgets to mention the different clients some are very sophisticated in what you can search for and a ton of other options.
Iphone has an app called twinkle that allows you to see people within a certain radius..
I went for a walk the other day with my dog.. I used twinkle to send tweets with photos from my iphone. showing them the mountains and where i lived.
It was easy as alls i did was take the iphone out login to twinkle type a short explaination and snap a photo which it attached to the tweet. did that a few times as I walked and a bunch of people got to see it.
Now for s a muso you could do this while at a concert a big event. while at a tech show. there are a ton of options and if you have some imagination u can fire stuff of interest around in a split second.
Twitter is great as it only takes 10 seconds to do it.
we are all busy and it's nice to get and send info quickly.
I also like that twitter can send my tweets straight to facebook as Posts and I dont have to login to facebook to do it Twitter can save u a lot of time and mucking about.
