Apple Loops in Live 6 help...

Post by Philammon » Fri Apr 25, 2008 5:32 pm

I am pondering on getting a set of loops from a seller but before I purchase them from him I need to know how or if I can install them into Live 6. I am using a iMac G5 with OSX 10.5.2 . If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. thanks.
I make the go.....

I am pretty sure the Apple loops are AIFF files... which i believe is useable in live.

Unfortunately, the apple loops are in CAB format. You can easily export a loop or save as.. aiff,. Then it can be used in Ableton

Converting to aif is indeed possible, but afaik you loose the functionality from apple loops in Live : the aif's won't commit to Live's tempo, which is a big miss imho.

If those Apple loops are "pre-Logic Studio" then they are AIFF's not CAF's...

??? Aiffs don't commit to live's tempo?? :? I'm fairly sure most of my loops are aiffs. I have a sample cd full of aiffs and they seem to work fine.
