Live 4.0.2 has serious bug with plug-ins

Post by Frank Hoffmann » Thu Sep 16, 2004 10:02 am

Unfortunately a bug slipped through for the Live 4.0.2 release. Multiple outs of plug-ins will not be available after loading a song. We will release very soon an update that fixes this issue. Meanwhile, please don't download and use the Live 4.0.2 update when you need this feature.

We are really sorry for the inconvenience.

I had this problem with Battery when I loaded an existing song from 4.01 into 4.02. I removed the Batery plugin (AU) from the midi track, added it back to the same midi track, and all my audio routing could be selected again in the other audio tracks. I just completed a remix using Battery with multi-outs (BD, SD, HH to 3 audio channels) in 4.02 and had no problems after I had removed/added the plugin.

Updates

Post by duncjam » Thu Sep 16, 2004 12:22 pm

How many more 'point updates' to Live 4 are planned?

I only have a dialup web connection so I can't be downloading 19MB files every couple of weeks!

I love Live 4, but I knew I should have waited longer before updgrading!

Sheesh. Give them a break. They *publicly* acknowledge there is a serious bug in their latest point release, promptly say tehy will fix it...and you complain? 8O

regarding doing big downloads of new updates:
Does anybody know if the "with samples" 100mb option with 4.02 (or the upcoming 4.03) will be an updated version of the samples that came with 4.01..? or are they just the same batch of samples?
this could save a lot of bandwidth when downloaded via my cellphone!
thanks,

Hi,

I still have CPU load with plug-ins (VST and AU) disabled in 4.0.2. It's the same as it was with 4.0.1: 19% CPU use at a standstill with about 6-8 disabled plugs on 8 channels and 3 returns each. I'm on a 1.25 Aluminum powerbook with OSX10.3.5.

This is a problem for me...I'd like to use this setup as my default template, but I run into CPU problems when I start enabling plugs (CPU spikes which don't register on the meter cause stuttering audio.

Interestingly, with 4.0.2 I had a 0% CPU load with a set with no plugs loaded, but with 4.0.3 I get a 1% CPU load.

Thanks,
Phil

This update solved my problem with an unopenable set. I could now successfully open it, although I had to reset all the patches.
