maybe you should sell some lifes, because some ppl here should definitely get one...

about your question, sell your software, and then contact ableton registrations dpt to transfer the ownership (or the new owner can do that). that should be done easily, get in touch with them.

actually, this thread is nice, for a moment i thought guest posting was allowed again!!!

Thank You for all Your replies guys, it was (how shall I put it...) educational.
My special thanks goes to Chris for his words of support and to Peeddrroo for giving me the answer I was looking for. My apologies to AlMusic, sorry Al I thought You were tried to be sarcastic  . As far as my reasons for selling Live, well I was and still am a Cubase user since the Atari ST days and Steinbergs Pro-24 (14 years) and therefore feel very comfortable with the way it works. I have purchased Live 4 to fill the gaps that Cubase did not have on offer (mainly warp facility) and found myself constantly "bouncing" between two applications. Now that SX3 was released it filled those gaps and therefore I have no need for using Live anymore. Last but not least, I find Cubase's copy protection (USB Dongle) far more user friendly than Abletons two unlock limit - I do reformat my hard drive often and therefore find myself in situation were I need to email Ableton support and justify requesting additional "unlocks" - find that frustrating and very inconvinient. Again, Sorry Al if I have offended You in any way - It wasn't my intention
Kind Regards,
ToLTeK

BTW; Anyone interested...? Any offer considered.
Transferring your lisence with most software companies is easy. Contact Ableton support and they will inform you what needs to be done.

Generally (and I am not talking about specifics here) the CURRENT registered owner makes contact with the company, informing them of the new intended owner. They will likely send you a form indicating that you no longer own the lisence, don't have it on your computer(s) anymore, and won't use it. It's done up in legaleze and you have to accept it or you can't sell the lisence.

Depending on the company, they will probably (95% of the time) require you fax or more likely physically mail them a copy of the form back, since they need a physical handwritten signature to take you to court if you start distributing copies of the software or selling the same lisence more than once.

Once they have the form, they SHOULD contact the new owner, but the new owner should contact the software company regardless to confirm that he's legit. Then, the software gets handed over.

Hope that helps.

And let's stop this BS kids name calling stuff. It demeans all of us.

:D Hi TolTek, just forget about it. You see, you're a nice guy afterall.

It seems we share the same, lets say "difficulty". I also am a Cubase (5.1, not SX, yet) user for years now and always was quite satisfied about it, although I felt that the program became a little too much of this and that.
Then SX came and I followed their forumand went to some VST-days were SX was presented, but soon felt a little frustrated about those endless troubleshooting and upgrades and again new versions and I also was not interested in again working through 300 pages of manuals to learn an entire new program. That consumes months and I rather make music.

Then I encountered LIVE and felt born again. The ease of use, the saving of time, the great sound engine, the amazing warp technique, the flexibility was really stunning to me.
And now with the Midi possibilities, which I, as a midi user, Live now seems to me a complete music creating facility.

But I understand you're feelings concerning bouncing between applications all the time. I have the same, you're always comparing.

Can you inform me a little about SX3? What are the gaps that are filled?

Al

Hi ToLTeK

before you let Live 4 go I would check SX3 out more, you may be disappointed with the Warp Feature.
