something along the line of DrumRack but ....
For any type of tracks. That would just be grand, i'm with you on that one.
Drum Rack is just phenomenal, let's expand it to any other Tracks. and have the user manage that .....
Great !!!

Re: Create "Group" from track selection
An even better idea is Sonar's quick group function where you can temporarily group tracks by clicking on a small button on each track. I seldom use permanent groups (because I'm always tweaking each individual track as I go along and because they are slow to set up in some situations) but I use quick groups all the time in Sonar.Soma wrote:A nice mixing feature would be to select several tracks then right click and select group. Then the tracks would all send their output to a new audio track called "Group 1". The tracks would all get moved next to each other and and the "group" could be expanded or collapsed to show/hide the group's children tracks. Group tracks could have their own scenes that play all the clips in the group's row.

This is bascially an encapsulation idea for all you OO heads out there. It's a bit like a folder track for all you conventional types. Actaully the ability to click-shrink/click-expand any track in the session view would help too.

Extract chains to group track

interesting the discussion in this thread: http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=90340
reading back over these wishes and even looking at Soma's mockup it looks like that is what Ableton were intending with the inline rack mixer - maybe they either underestimated how much it would suck to not have clips on them, or maybe they just didnt manage to finish that bit in time and the clips are coming

I need this!
I'm used to make the submix-channels small in the session views, so I keep the clarity of my project. It sucks, Submix-Tracks looking the same as aother tracks and having no possibility to hide them...
Doing this in Racks can't be ment serious???
