I had bad crackles at around 45% CPU during a live-concert last friday. But then again I had reactivision, neuromixer (visuals), osculator (WII remote)and a megaset with various resampling channels going.
I will reduce the load and test again next friday on the next concert. we will paly at the CCCB in Barcelona, together with Martin Kaltenbrunner and his reactable, and with Markus Popp/Oval. I am looking forward to this great show (and if it crackles then this will be declared my new sound!).

to be honest, I have a lot of chrashes with 7.05 (and also with 7.03) so far. I am still investigating. I am on PC (Quadcore). Imposcar is not useable at all (1.0.3). Remote Zero SL causes problems..deinstalled it...
I am a little frustrated right now, I use Live since version 3, but never had this kind of problems before. As long as your work only with a few loops and Ableton Instruments...no problem. But if I work on a bigger set, with different VST or several Drumracks and ,for example, want to change the drumrack, Live quit with the "serious problem occure" window...
I am still investigating...
Just to add:
My audio interface is a MOTU Ultralight with newest drivers
Window XP SP2

motu ultralite. during rehearsal all went well. but during rehearsal i didn't make visuals with a livecam, and reactivision with the built in cam and even more stuff, like writing messages to the audience in a text editor that was on the screen ...swishniak wrote:hey pepe -
what sound card are you using? ive been noticing crackles on my otherwise-very-stable v.6..0.10, depending on what soundcard i use. maybe its not the software..

I noticed crashes when dusplicating armed midi-tracks under certain conditions. Since then I un-arm the tracks before duplicating or moving them, and had no further crash.Bionecteur wrote:to be honest, I have a lot of chrashes with 7.05 (and also with 7.03) so far. At the moment we have no dates for June in Barcelona, but that might change. We had something for Berlin but that has been canceled!swishniak wrote:ah - theres always something i forget to check in rehearsals / soundcheck that mess things up during live shows!
by the way - let me know if you're doing any shows with the reactivision in barcelona. ill be there for 3 weeks in june and would love to check it out.
Drop me a PM when you come to BCN ... and check out what's going on at the NIUduring that time.

Every DAW I have ever used (Cubase, Sonar, Acid, Reason, Logic and LIVE) and know of gets sluggish if you leave it turned on for hours, I think it's a computer issue in general rather than a specific Live problem. I always find it best to backup, shutdown, go make a cup of tea and do a restart every 4 hours or so for best performance. Even just saving your .als file and quitting and reopening Live has a positive effect usually after a period of time.
Track routings - this is less common a trigger, I seem to be OK though. I know that changing samplerates or bit depth in Cubase sometimes brings a freeze or a slowdown for me.

7.0.5 is running ok, but i still get occasional distortion/drop-outs when using the crossfader. this has been present in all verions of live 7 so far. it's hard to recreate the problem though, so i haven't sent a live set to ableton to check. usually with big sets with reaktor plugs. never happened with live 6.
