My guess is that when the Mac OS 9 version is tested, it will be announced…

There are new samples midi and wave files, examples of Hiphop, pop R&B, funk als.files .
A few nice new wave files to fill Simpler or Impulse.
4.0.2 are the same as 4.0.3

Wrong version or what?

Post by Liam » Fri Sep 17, 2004 8:36 pm

The version file name on the latest updtae link comes through as 3.0.4

Not as 4.0.3 as it is supposed to?

Am I correct about this?

Should I go ahead and install the file called Live3.0.4 anyway?

It is right there is a 2GB file size limitation in AIFF or WAV file format ...and i do not know any programm that could record files that are longer .
But i am still looking for a workarownd since i need to record DJ live sats that are 24bit and 4+hours long .

Virtual Instruments form Steinberg (SE Versions) don't work

Post by stuwhisson » Sat Sep 18, 2004 2:46 am

Hi guys,

Glad to see a speedy update. However, there still is a problem with some VST's.

Steinbergs SE Versions:

HALion SE & Virtual Guitarist SE - still can't find content, despite showing it where it is in halion and VG although stating it can't find it, doesn't in fact give you the option to look for it in OSX.

Would be interested on your thoughts, considering that these VST's aren't exactly new or indeed push the boat out regards to processing. Unlike NI's KOMPAKT which runs superbly and is 10 time more complex that HALion SE.

Cheers

Stu

Recording sets live or in the studio? If it's studio then you could just stop, go back a few bars, start recording and splice them together. In a live situation..who knows, I've looked in other apps ie Audio Hijack and the limit is 2Gb. What are you doing with the sets once they're recorded? Unless you're mixing/mastering them there's little gain in 24bit I think as you're going to be dithering down to 16bit at some point anyway.

hi,
i'm having a problem with 4.0.3 that i did not have with previous versions. i don't seem to be able to change the available hardware inputs under input config. i can change it on the input config screen and hit ok, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

regarding 2GB file size limitations - Steinberg apps (VST/Nuendo & Wavelab) all support the new W64 standard (a wav file with 64 bit addressing) that allows much larger files. This seems to be cropping up on more apps recently.
