Melbourne.
1) it's on the east coast
2) it's not 300 hours and $9000 flight to get anywhere else in australia except perth
3) it's not shithouse
4) it's not a mining town with a few other people hanging around
5) melbourne has bars. people play music. artists hang out there.
6)

7) melbourne has gangstas. underbelly taught me that.

for diversity and amount of art, music (especially live music), and food, in Australia it's gotta be Melbourne... Perth is no comparision...
downside is i hate the fuckin weather there......

Perth.
1. It's on the West Coast.
2. It's more fun to visit the East than to live there.
3. It doesn't have shithouse weather all year round.
4. It's not a town of interpretive dancers with a few other people hanging around.
5. Perth has quality over quantity in the local music scene.
6.

7. Perth has gangstas, they're just not on the telly.
Different strokes for different folks eh?

Sydney sucks. I should know, I live here

Doesn't suck as much as Brisbane though. I lived there longer.
I see no pattern forming.

I'd be surprised if you chose Perth.

What about New Zealand? I've heard a lot of good things about Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.

Well not since the premier sporting team's (West Coast Eagles) 2 best players made the move to Melbourne... They were on Page 3 of todays Paper though... Talking about one of our homegrown sporting legends.
