Using my FS1 scratch mixer as a soundcard for ableton

Post by iamdusted » Tue May 06, 2008 1:59 pm

Hi chaps.
First post here and am looking for some help with ableton. I use my m-audio ozone for production for ableton but with DJing I cant because it only has one out and I need a line for cueing.

Can I use the scratchmixer for DJing ? does it have 2 outs ? How do I go about using it ?

Many thanks. Have been a lurker on here for a while.

Thanks

Is it a mixer that's also a soundcard? You need to get the audio of the computer in some way.

Do you mean Final Scratch 1, the scratch amp? If so, it MIGHT be possible using ASIO4ALL...

Give it a go - ASIO4ALL is FREE.

Yeah. It is my final scratch mixer.
Does it have enough outs to be able to cue ?

Yeah, sure. You've got 2 stereo outs, so you could use one as your main output (and do all the mixing INSIDE Live) and one as your cue/PFL, or you could route each stereo out to a DJ mixer and use the mixers cue/PFL switches.

For info - the scratch amp is not a mixer. It's an audio interface (sound card).
