SuperCollider & Ableton Live
I've looked all over the web and this forum so as to not ask a redundant question that's already been answered. I recently got an iMac with OSX, Ableton Live 5 & Reason. I've loved electronic music for years but have always played in hardcore bands (RIYL Converge, Botch, Etc) recently I've made the jump from a non midi set-up using electronics in my music (analog keyboards, circuit bent pedals, an Akai MPC2000xl, and more) to now recording it myself. Possibly using Live, "live."
I recently got into SuperCollider and I get it for the most part; not entirely that'll take years I suppose but I am making some really good glitchy noise Ala Merzbow, Etc but I can't figure out how to get superCollider into Ableton! I've tried putting it into reason; I even took my old Yamaha DAW, ran SC out of my interface and into that, recorded it, then ran that into Ableton. There's got to be an easier way. Does anyone know? Thank you for your time anyone and everyone who answers this post.
If anyone cares, these be the jams I play...

While I'm not _that_ familar with SuperCollider and its options (last time I fiddled around with it was with SC 2 - I'm pretty sure there's a way to record your audio to disk though, and then you could bring that file into Live), I guess what you could always do is download Soundflower to route the audio from SuperCollider into Live.
Once Soundflower is installed, you will find it as an input option in the "Audio from" drop-down menu on a Live audio track. All you need to do then is enable record in Live on that track, and set the audio output of SuperCollider to Soundflower, and you should be ready to go.
Hope this helps,
Martin

Martin thanks, but for some reason soundflower isn't in the "audio from" menu, it says Ext in,
Reason,
Resampling,
a return
b return and
no imput.
The weird thing is that in the preferences it shows up in the input audio device...
Leonard I might try the jack OSX and see if that works. Thanks to the both of you.

You also need flower garden to make soundflower work.Andrenihilist wrote:Martin thanks, but for some reason soundflower isn't in the "audio from" menu, it says Ext in,

The down load should be on the c74 site where you found soundflower..

There was a bug for a while (a long time actually) in soundflower that prevented it from working correctly in Live, IIRC the behavior was what you describe. It did seem to be fixed in recent versions (or Live 7 isn't susceptible to it) so you may want to check your version if you downloaded soundflower a long time ago. There was also a patch to fix the problem floating around this board at one point.Andrenihilist wrote:Martin thanks, but for some reason soundflower isn't in the "audio from" menu, it says Ext in,
