Problem with live 6 on new macbook pro error code -2048

hi guys
havent posted for a while, i just brought a new macbook pro and am installing stuff and want to have a fiddle with ableton and see how she rolls on the new mbp
but when im trying to drag tacks into session view i get an error saying the track could not be decoded by using quicktime error code -2048
please help im going away tomorrow and need it sorted to take

What format are the files you are dragging into Live?

beatport mp3s some seem to work some dont

So the files that aren't working are MP3s?

(AFAIK, the 2048 is the "can't find the right decoder" error)

yeah i have just downloaded a load of track using beatports new downloader app i have found a few that work
