gah, sorry mate. We actually "finalize" our zips on pc specifically for this reason. Will fix this right now.

EDIT: didn't find any of those files on this double-check. And I am on pc as well. Winrar doesn't pop up any errors at all.
sorry, I posted that back in the day when I used 7-Zip for zip files. winrar rulzrar.

fun sound set, can't wait to hear how I let myself down trying to make a track! :D

ya i've been trying to sample the sounds so i can at least get a bass, but their so micro already. i'm guessing most of the entries will be bassless, unless we can use ableton's instruments to make a bass??

hi Viral,

part of the idea of this challenge is to find ways of seeking out pitch in the sounds.

My way of doing this is usually to make really short loop points in Simpler/Sampler and this will then help coax out the needed sounds. I think this may be the topic of the next video we do for our site.

Hope this helps.

Can we resample??
So, for example, take a sound, mangle it with live FX and so on, bounce it and then use it as a source in simpler/sampler/impulse?
If yes, should we make notes of what we did and how we did it?

Am i maybe over thinking this? :?

you CAN resample, and yes, you're overthinking it ;) It'll be on good faith, I reckon. For extra credit leave the effect chain on a deactivated track, perhaps?

hehe, more annoying questions:

- what do I win if I already own lots of your stuff? Free downloads for the next packs you will publish?

- Where did I save my username and PW for your site?

- Can you explain to my boss that I have to go home now and start to play with this?

- Who owns the copy- and publishing rights of my entries?

- Can I use your set/samples for my next album?

- should I shut up now?

you will get something insanely great to match, yes. We will hook the winner UP and pamper, that's for damned sure.
- Where did I save my username and PW for your site?
uhm... I dunno.. PM me and I'll give you a direct link so you can get the file :)
- Can you explain to my boss that I have to go home now and start to play with this?
sure. +4551925929 - make him/her call.
- Who owns the copy- and publishing rights of my entries?
A good one. Will add a share-alike license for the pack.
- Can I use your set/samples for my next album?
see above. Technically "yes".

Love this idea.

One more question:

Do you want a rendered output as the submission, or the resultant Liveset?

Well, it's your competition, but allowing resampling means we allow individual non-drum rack samples. This add a whole different dimension because otherwise we are limited to the single-note sample in the drum rack.

That makes tonal work quite a bit simpler.

I kind of like the idea of limiting it to a single drum rack as the only sound source.

EDIT: I'm assuming allowing resampling means we can add an individual simpler/sampler outside of the drum rack in a new track.

mp3 only, so that we can quickly and easily upload it to our player.

Yes indeedy - as in the video:
http://www.vimeo.com/989000

as many tracks as you like, fudge about with the provided samples as much as you like. No synths, just the sounds in the pack, tweaked as much as possible.
