Mixer Visible vertically in both session and arrange windows
The I/O mixer view in the Arrange window is a little bit confusing. I know Ableton Live is all about the one window deal, But the mixer is probably the only Element that I would like to see detachable. or at least a split view in the arrange window.
The horizontal mixer is a little bit confusing or maybe it is the fact that instead of the usual arrow moving up or down we have numbers . if these could be replaced by a same visual element then it might make things more seemless.
Just a thought.

I'd be much happier with a track inspector for the arrange page first. Sonar can do what you want although I never use that feature because the Track Inspector is so instant gratification.
I think the interface of Live needs some reworking but I think their goal is to create a only 2 view concept so that feature might give some other people some tension. The mixer probably eventually needs to be attached though for mixing purposes though.
A small gripe I have is the lack of FX bins where it seemed much easier to copy effect settings in other programs but this might just be me not adapting to Live's workflow. But when mixing the clip/track view popping up all the time gets real annoying in a lot of cases. I think the way Live does their plugins (keeping them confined to the bottom of the window) will be a problem for them as more people start to mix.
It is great for the piano roll and midi but when mixing it is nice to move the effects, compare with different effect settings on different tracks and temporarily hide effects.

I think a track inspector would be a better idea. It would definitely be quicker to program.naph wrote:right now, it's just a TAB away... i don't think this would be a very effective idea
I think to add a mixer to the arrange view, Live would have to make some more adjustments like being able to manage screensets and what not. The mixer could use some improvments though.
